Moto X (2017) seems to be floating away from the company flagship Moto Z series. Earlier last week, a series of leaked images on the internet showed that the upcoming Moto X (2017) may feature a micro-USB port and a headphone jack, a new 3D render and video leaked by Android Authority now points towards the lack of support for Moto Mods.
Moto Mods was the most talked about and significant development in the cell phone world in 2016. With Moto Mods, users could now upgrade their cameras, boost the battery or even boost the sound output of their device as per requirement. However, the Lenovo owned company seems to be steering away from supporting Moto Mods in its upcoming Moto X (2017) device. According to the video leaked by Android Authority, the phone will not come with the Pogo Pins that allows Mods to be attached to the device.
According to earlier leaks, the phone is expected to measure 150 x 73.8 x 8.4 mm and sport a 5.2-inch display. Considering these dimensions, it is speculated that it might even feature a large battery. In the meanwhile, another report has surfaced that quashes these speculations, and on the contrary claims that the leaked renders are not of the Moto X (2017) but of another phone that has been codenamed as ‘Cedric’ and has passed FCC regulations a few days ago.
