According to Subhodeep Bhattacharya, Netgear regional director, India & SAARC, range extenders are a fast growing segment for Netgear as more and more customers are choosing it due to the great convenience it offers in enhancing existing home networks. With the Ex6120, Netgear brings the new high speed 802.11ac standard to range extenders, enabling customers to experience greater range and high speed connections at home.
WiFi extenders are indeed a cheaper way to get one’s premise fully covered under WiFi. One WiFi router is not strong enough to radiate its waves at all nook and corners of the house or office. Such extenders come in handy as they pick up the signal and re-transmits them to cover a larger area, thus effectively weeding out the dead zones, where the signals did not reach previously.
