A mobile application offering a simple and efficient single-screen display for important vehicle-related documents such as Driving License, RC card, etc. was launched on Wednesday. RTA m-Wallet helps motorists avoid physically carrying documents like driving licence, registration certification and other vehicle related papers. The App enables owners and drivers of vehicles to store their documents issued by the Transport Department in digital form, relieving the citizens from carrying physical documents and preventing from loss or misplacement, an official release said. Motorists can show RTA m-Wallet on their smart phones to police or Road Transport Authority (RTA) authorities during checking.

The digital wallet for all transport-related documents will be available on Android and iOS platforms, it said. Telangana Information Technology Minister K T Rama Rao and Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy launched the app at the Secretariat here. RTA m-Wallet also offers options to add multiple vehicles owned by an individual. The documents once downloaded on the application will be saved permanently, the release said. This comes as a relied of thousands of motorists who often do not remember to carry the documents when on an urgent move to someplace. Such people end up paying fines or bribing the officials concerned. In a worst case scenario, this app can come as a lifesaver in a situation where otherwise your vehicle could have been impounded.
The move to launch an app for such a purpose is surely going to be cheered by all those who are out on the roads in their vehicles at some point of the day. This not only makes it convenient to have all the documents like Driving License or RC Card stored securely in one’s mobile device, it also makes sure that such important documents do not get lost or stolen or damaged due to any reason. As mobile phones are a common necessity and people always carry the device in their pockets, the fear of forgetting the vehicle documents at home can now be a thing of the past.
