Last Month (September), Apple refreshed their smart watch line up and introduced the highly anticipated iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. We liked the additions done to the existing products but we are still contemplating on how much appeal they carry as a package. While the iPhone, iPad, and the Watch line up has go their share of makeover for 2016, the Mac of the pack has received a transformation as well.

Apple introduced the new generation MacBook Pro line up this week that marks the 25th anniversary of Apple’s first notebook. The MacBook Pro are said to be the thinnest, lightest, and the most powerful MacBook Pro, the company has ever created. As per the presentation philosophy, Apple folks, in every launch event, compare their new products to their own previous gen products and this stands to be true in this case as well.
So the design and dimension comparo specifics are as follows:
Dimensions
- The new gen MacBook Pro features an all new metal unibody construction and still manages to be to be thinner and lighter than the previous generation.
- 13-inch MacBook Pro is 17% thinner and 23% less in volume than the earlier model
- 15-inch MacBook Pro is 14 % thinner and 20 % less in volume than before.

Speaking of the new additions, a new ‘groundbreaking’ technology replaces the row of function keys with a retina-quality multi-touch display; it is called the Touch Bar. The Touch Bar places controls right on top of the keyboard module and can be used for system functions or on apps like Mail, Finder, Calendar, Numbers, GarageBand, Final Cut Pro X and more. The Touch Bar can be used for third-party apps as well.
Touch ID has been introduced in the MacBook Pro and integrated into the power button. Once the setup is done, users can use their fingerprint to unlock their Mac, switch user accounts and even make secure purchases with Apple Pay on the web.
The new MacBook Pro is available in a 13-inch model (without Touch Bar) and 13- and 15-inch models (With Touch Bar). 3 variants of the 13-inch models are up on sale with different processor and storage configurations. The Intel Core i5 Processor options available on the 13-inch models include- 2.0GHz dual-core, and 2.9GHz dual-core. All these models get 8GB of RAM (different frequencies) and Intel Iris Graphics. The storage options include 256Gb and 512GB.
The 15inch models are offered in three variants with different processor and storage options -, 2.6GHz Processor&256GB Storage and 2.7GHz Processor&512GB Storage. Both models get 16GB of RAM and Radeon Pro 2GB Graphics. All these MacBooks get Thunderbolt ports that can fuse data transfer, charging and twice the video bandwidth in a single port — allowing users to drive a 5K display and power their MacBook Pro with a single cable.
Other features include:
- Larger Force Touch trackpads — 46 percent larger on the 13-inch MacBook Pro and twice as large on the 15-inch MacBook Pro;
