Gionee launched two new phones Marathon M5 Plus and Marathon M5 Enjoy during an event in China. Gionee Marathon M5 Enjoy has many similar features to that of Gionee Marathon M5. Both the phones have a 5.5 inch screen with aTFT IPS display and a resolution of 720×1280 pixels. The phones are powered by a 64-bit 1.5GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 SoC processor, Android 5.1 operating system and Mali-T720 GPU. The phones have a 3 GB RAM with 16GB inbuilt storage and the phone also supports microSD card of up to 128GB. The phone also features an 8 megapixel back camera with auto focus and CMOS sensor and a front camera of 5 megapixel. The phone has a dimension of 155x76x9mm and weighs around 200 grams.
Gionee Marathon M5 Enjoy has a sensor at the front on thephysical home button and doesn’t have it at the back panel. The sensor on the physical home button unlocks the screen in 0.5 seconds.The phone also has a 5000mAh Li-Po battery that is supposed to have 52 hours talk time and 775 hours of standby time.The phone has a lower battery life and a lower back camera resolution as compared to Gionee Marathon M5. The phone can be bought from the company’s shopping website at INR 20,440 or USD $ 308.
The other phone that was launched is Marathon M5 Plus which was advertised by the company for quite some time. The phone has a smaller 5020mAh battery as compared to Gionee Marathon M5 which the company claims has optimized. So the phone has a longer battery life as compared to Marathon M5. Even after 600 charging cycles the phone is still supposed to retain 90% of the original capacity. Themodel to be launched in India will have different software and hardware specifications from the China variant.
