Lenovo has started sending out invites for a product launch event at the MWC 2017, to be be held in Barcelona on February 26. While the invite itself doesn’t reveal much, the internet is abuzz with expectations that it will be the new Moto G5 Plus which will make an appearance.
The Moto G5 Plus is tipped to feature a 5.5-inch Full HD display (401ppi) and is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 625 SoC with 3 or 4GB of RAM. Featuring a fingerprint scanner, like the other ‘G’ line-up of phones, there could be storage options of 16/32GB to pick from. The rear camera could be a 16MP lens, while the front could be a 5MP unit. Leaked information suggests the phone could pack a 3,080 mAh battery and a conventional USB connector. Although it might ship with Android 7.0 out of the box, making it among the first phones to do so.
There’s also news that the invite could be for the launch of ‘Moto Mods’, 12 of which are to be launched in 2017. Although recent renders, and a similar device which surfaced on a Romanian website a few days ago do point towards a possible launch of the said device. After they recently launched the P2 in India, there’s no news about Lenovo launching any new phones under their own brand at the MWC this year. We might just see a well kept surprise though.
