New Phone at Rs.49,000: IP57 rated HTC EVO 10 with Snapdragon 810 SoC, 3GB RAM launched in India

A global variant of the HTC Bolt, which is a U.S. only smartphone, the HTC EVO 10 has been launched in India at a price of Rs.48,990. It has gone on sale on HTC’s E-store for India and is available in a shade of Pearl Gold. The phone’s USP is HTC’s BoomSound Adaptive Audio and its Type-C ‘dual adaptive’ headphone which adapts itself to the user’s ear structure and hearing to tailor the sound output.

Running Android 7.0 Nougat Out-of-the-box with HTC Sense on top, the HTC EVO 10 features a 5.5-inch QuadHD display with a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, affixed to the phone’s aluminium unibody chassis which is water, dust and splash resistant. Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC, backed with 3GB RAM. In terms of storage, one gets 32GB of onboard memory with the option to expand it to 2TB using a microSD card. A fingerprint sensor is embedded in the Home button and promises to unlock the device within 0.2 seconds.

Optics on the HTC EVO 10 include a 16-megapixel rear camera with OIS (optical image stabilisation), 4K video recording capability, and PDAF. It also features a Pro mode which lets you click images in RAW and lets you control almost all camera settings manually. The front camera is an 8-megapixel lens with screen flash for company.

Connectivity options on the HTC 10 evo include 4G LTE, NFC, Bluetooth v4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, and a USB Type-C port. The HTC 10 evo packs a 3200mAh battery and supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 fast charging technology. Oh and it misses out on a 3.5 mm jack.
