Nokia Android premium phone powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC coming soon

The new Android powered Nokia 6 managed to fly off the shelves within a minute of going on sale in China. And HMD Global, the Finnish company which owns the rights to market and sell devices under the Nokia brand has promised to reveal a few more devices at the MWC, to be held in Barcelona next month. However, while responding to some queries on Chinese social network Weibo, Nokia’s official account seemingly confirmed that the company is indeed working on a flagship device that will be powered by Qualcomm’s finest till date, the Snapdragon 835 SoC.

Nokia fans will have to wait for some time before it goes on sale though. As to a query that was thrown towards Nokia’s Weibo account about the rumoured Snapdragon 835 smartphone, they replied, “Understood your mood, because the new high-end Snapdragon SoC has just released, please give us some time to prepare, when the time will be made public.” (Translated)

Rumored to launch at the MWC next month, a Nokia device tipped to be called the P1 has been making the rounds on the Internet for some time. Expected to slot itself in the Premium category, the device is rumored to be powered by a Snapdragon 835 SoC too, which is confusing now, since Nokia seems to have officially made an announcement that such a device will take time to arrive.

Nokia could also be entering the Tablet category though, as an 18.4-inch display tablet with Nokia branding has shown up on GFXBench benchmarking site. Spotted by Nokia Power User, the Android Nougat based tablet is listed featuring an 18.4-inch QHD display, is powered by a Snapdragon 835 SoC, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage. It gets a 12-megapixel rear camera, a 12-megapixel front camera, as well as 4G LTE (via a SIM card slot), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and NFC connectivity options.
