If you are a resident of Gurgaon or if you happen to visit the city regularly, here’s some good news for you! In order to provide wireless Internet connectivity to users in Gurgaon, Manohar Lal Khattar the Chief Minister of Haryana, launched public Wi-Fi hotspots. Wi-Fi sessions can be enjoyed on their devices by people visiting MG Road, Sadar Bazaar, Sector 29 market, and Sarhaul Village. Airtel said in a statement that users will be able to enjoy a free daily quota limit of 30 minutes every day on every attuned smart phone.
Last year, Airtel had won the mandate for the Wi-Fi launch from Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon. All users with compatible devices will be able to enjoy the free Wi-Fi service. Airtel said that the user has to just enable Wi-Fi in device settings and search for ‘MSG powered by Airtel when in proximity to the Wi-Fi. Airtel said that users will be allowed to use the Wi-Fi services for more than 30 minutes too however a nominal amount will be charged to them. The nominal charge is for the purpose of making the service viable for Airtel in order to provide an uninterrupted connectivity for those interested in using the WiFi for longer durations.
Airtel added in its emailed statement that while Airtel users will be charged on their data plan/packs, non-Airtel users will be able to buy online vouchers with affordable deals. Airtel customers can connect to the Wi-Fi using the Airtel Hangout app also. On Sunday, Dhruv Bhagat, the CEO of Delhi/NCR, Bharti Airtel, who was present at the event said, we are very happy to partner with the Gurgaon administration and enable citizens in the Millennium City to experience world class internet services on the go.
