The freight division of Emirates airline, Emirates SkyCargo, has come up with a specialised transportation product for high-value automobiles. The service is called as Emirates SkyWheels and through it the company will provide customers with a complete transportation solution for classic, luxury and sports cars. Customers will be offered with two options – Emirates SkyWheels Premium and Emirates SkyWheels Advanced.
The Emirates SkyWheels Premium product package includes:
- Door-to-door transportation of the vehicle from select origins and destinations
- Collection of the vehicle from its home and delivery overseas
- Export and import customs clearance processes for the vehicle taken care of at both ends of the journey
- Additional road and transport insurance
The Emirates SkyWheels Advanced product package includes:
- Airport-to-airport transportation for automobiles
- Offers complete round trip handling of vehicles under both Premium and Advanced products.
Emirates SkyCargo has been transporting high-value cars, both on its passenger flights as well as on its freighter aircraft. Its fleet includes over 245 widebody aircraft including 15 freighters; 13 Boeing 777Fs and two B747-400ERFs. The cargo terminals in Dubai house a dedicated storage space for vehicles.
The new service is backed by the expertise of qualified staff across Emirates SkyCargo’s global network that is spread over 150 destinations in 6 continents. The staff is specifically trained on loading and unloading vehicles from aircraft with attention to care and safety.
Recently, SkyCargo transported an exclusive Pagani Zonda F supercar from Dubai back to the Pagani factory near Bologna, Italy for a service. The brand is a sponsor of the inaugural Gulf Concours event that will take place in Dubai on 18 and 19 November 2016. The event brings together a combination of rare classic cars and modern bespoke luxury and supercars, on display for the first time in the region.
For the Concours d’Elegance event , Emirates SkyCargo transported a collection of rare classic Ferrari cars to Dubai for the event including the classic 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO. This GTO is estimated to be worth over USD 40 million. Other transported cars also include the 1955 Ferrari 250 GT Competizione Berlinetta Sport Speciale and a rare 1965 Ferrari 275 GTB Competizione.
