OLA, which came up with app based cab services for all segments, including cheaper autorickshaws, are soon expected to provide free WiFi services to their customers. At present only the Prime category OLA Cabs provide this service. A couple of days back, the Bengaluru based taxi aggregator firm launched its service named OLA WiFi. OLA customers will be able to automatically connect to internet in an OLA cab without having the need to enter valid credentials every time they hop into a cab. This does seem like an extra perk of taking an OLA for one’s transportation needs.

Raghuvesh Sarup, the head of Categories and Chief Marketing Officer told Press Trust of India that users with a one-time authentication on their phones, can use Ola Wi-Fi on their devices without having to key in login credentials and passwords in subsequent rides, staying connected with Ola’s secure network whenever they take a ride. He also made it clear that auto connect is already available for free in the Prime category services and will soon be available across all categories including Micro, Mini and Auto-rickshaws available on the Ola app.
With WiFi turning to be a necessity in every person’s daily life, the decision to provide the service free of charge in its most affordable segment of public transport is sure to work wonders and increase the customer base by a sizeable number. The company may also be targeting the youth, who with their tech savvy approach are sure to respond positively to such a gesture from the company. WiFi services in autorickshaws, when introduced, will be the first such service in the country. The Taxi aggregator is surely going the aggressive way to garner more and more loyal customer base who will prefer OLA over any other mode of public transport.
