The highly anticipated OnePlus 3 update was officially unveiled earlier this month. The update was not software related but was a hardware overhaul that gave the OnePlus 3 more power and speed. Dubbed as the OnePlus 3T, the phone came with an all new processor, pumped up battery and an improved front camera. From 22 November, the 3T is made available in the US. After reaching Europe on the 28th, the OnePlus 3T will land in the Indian market on 2 December 2016.
The date was tweeted by the Vikas Agarwal, GM – OnePlus India. Due to a challenge given to him by OnePlus fans, Vikas had to bungee jump in order to officially reveal the launch date. Here’s the tweet followed by an overview of the OnePlus 3T.

The OnePlus 3T is available with 64GB and 128GB storage options in the international markets. Apart from the Soft Gold colour option the 3T gets a new Gunmetal colour. Apart from the processor, battery, front camera and the livery, everything else remains exactly identical to the OnePlus 3.
Under its hood is the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 Quad Core chip. The Adreno 530 GPU and 6GB of RAM have been retained. To impart better performance the 3T also gets an enhanced file system. The 8MP front camera (Sony IMX179) on the previous model has been replaced with a 16MP unit that is equipped with a Samsung 3P8SP Sensor. The EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) on the primary camera has been improved as well. The 3,000 mAh battery of the OP3 has been bumped up by about 30% and now its capacity stands at 3,400 mAh.
The developers at OnePlus have confirmed that the Nougat update for the OP3 and the OP3T will be rolled out this year itself. As for the pricing, In the US the 64GB variant sells for USD 439 (approx INR 30,000) and the 128GB OnePlus 3T (Gunmetal only) is up for USD 479 (approx INR 32,500). After being launched in the Indian market the OP3 will be removed out of the shelves to make space for the OnePlus 3T.
