Though Cyanogen and OnePlus have had a rocky past we find that the newest MOD ready update is making its way to OnePlus devices. Thus we find that the Cyanogen OS 13.1 update has started rolling out to many eligible devices. The important feature of this Cyanogen OS update is Mods. Mods is nothing but third party features baked into the OS that allows swift and easy access. Forexample, Twitter integrated in the lock screen. The Twitter mod brings trending tweets and news to the lock screen. When we swipe left, we can access fullscreen Twitter experience, without having to unlock the device or access the app.
In a blogpost, Cyanogen has written enabling a mod on your lock screen is as simple as accessing Settings on your Cyanogen OS device, tapping on Lock screen, selecting Lock Screen Mods, and then tapping on your mod of choice. We find Microsoft’s apps and services at the forefront after the launch of Cyanagon 13.1. For example for easier access Cortana Mod is extended to the lockscreen. Microsoft explained in a blogpost that with the updated Cortana mod, you can tell Cortana to “take a selfie,” giving you a voice-controlled, hands-free automatic countdown for capturing your picture. Once the selfie is snapped, you can quickly review the photo and easily share it right from the film strip on the phone.
Due to the Skype mod in Cyanogen OS 13.1 we can quickly and easily start Skype conversations directly from the Cyanogen phone app. This mod allows users to switch from a cellular voice call to a Skype video call easily while calling a friend using Cyanogen or Android device. Also the Cyanogen contacts app will allow you to search, see and call your Skype contacts directly from the contact card.
