OWC, a zero emissions Mac and PC technology company launched a new version of the Drive Dock with USB 3.1 Gen 1 connectivity. The new Drive Dock offers performance with speeds up to 434 MB/s, two drive bays (each supporting 2.5 or 3.5-inch drives). It has an internal auto-switching power supply for use around the globe. Its features a silver aluminum enclosure and a matte black top.
The Drive Dock with USB 3.1 Gen 1 connectivity is available at authorized OWC resellers for USD 89.95. Previously, the Drive Dock with Thunderbolt 2 and USB 3.1 Gen 1, announced in November 2015, is also available at resellers for $247.99.
OWC Drive Dock, featuring USB 3.1 Gen 1, delivers decent transfer speeds with hot-swappable convenience, making it an essential tool for video and audio content professionals working with multiple bare drives. Using a Thunderbolt 2 connection, Drive Dock users will be able to achieve speeds up to 522 MB/s, supporting multiple streams of compressed 4K, 2K, and HD video.
