Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur trailer will give you the feels

2015 is a big year for Disney-Pixar. This is the first time in their history that the beloved animation studio is releasing two movies within a single year. The first one, Inside Out, has already been hailed as a masterpiece and a moving story that both adults and children alike can relate to. It has been called a return to form for the studio that, after a string of unparalleled critical and commercial successes has lost its way a bit as it struggled with more mainstream movies and cash and merchandise-grabbing franchises and sequels.

And now, the studio will be looking to replicate that regained vigor with its next release, The Good Dinosaur. The studio has dropped the second trailer for the movie, releasing November 25th. Actually, it should just be called the first trailer as the first one was more of a teaser and not much else. This time round, we get a little bit of backstory, even though there is barely any dialogue, if you discount the animal grunts and growls.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Good Dinosaur: [blockquote type=”left”]“The Good Dinosaur” asks the question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? Pixar Animation Studios takes you on an epic journey into the world of dinosaurs where an Apatosaurus named Arlo makes an unlikely human friend. While traveling through a harsh and mysterious landscape, Arlo learns the power of confronting his fears and discovers what he is truly capable of.”[/blockquote]

Originally set for a 2014 release, The Good Dinosaur had its original director, Bob Peterson, removed from the film, replaced by Peter Sohn, resulting in an apparently huge overhaul of the script that even required the voice actors having to re-record their performances. However, the delay may possibly prove fortuitous should this month’s Jurassic World have the movie-going public once again diagnosed with a lucrative case of dinosaur fever. And it looks eye-popping, as all good Pixar movies do. It’s almost like this is Pixar’s spin on The Croods except instead of pandering to children, they’re going for emotional overload.
