Price Slashed for Moto G3 and Moto G (Turbo) in India

Motorola has announced price cuts for their flagship Moto G (Gen 3) and Moto G Turbo Edition smart phones in India. The Motorola Moto G (Gen 3) will now be available at INR 9,999 for the 8 GB inbuilt storage model which was previously available for INR 11,999, while the 16 GB model will now cost INR 10,999 down from its previous price of INR 12,999. The Motorola Moto G Turbo Edition, on the other hand, will now be available for INR 12,499, down from its launch price of INR 14,499. The phones will continue to be available with flipkart and exciting exchange offers have also been announced by the company for the same.

The discount in price for exchanging an old phone can vary up to INR 4,000 for Moto G 3 and up to INR 5,000 for the Moto G Turbo Edition. Notably, this is the first permanent price cut for the Moto G (Gen 3) since its launch in July 2015. Motorola India had introduced limited period discounts on the Moto G (Gen 3) on few occasions but this is the first time when the handset has received a permanent price cut.

The company is also running some limited period offers with discounts on other models from its stable. The Motorola Moto X Play, which launched at INR 18,499 for the 16 GB variant and INR 19,999 for the 32 GB variant, is now available for INR 16,499 and INR 17,999 respectively. The company has not revealed any possible reasons for slashing prices of the Moto G (Gen 3), but the recent launch of the Lenovo Vibe K4 Note can be expected to be one of the reasons. Several smart phone portals, while reviewing the new Lenovo Vibe K4 Note, declared the Moto G (Gen 3) as one of the biggest competitors.
