It is almost the end of this calendar year and it is about time when news from all over the world regarding upcoming performance oriented chipsets and other electronics keep flooding. This time too internet users may well be aware of the new Snapdragon 820 GPU slated to make its debut in the next year. As always, speculations are rife about its specifications but the only confirmed piece of news is that the successor to the current Snapdragon 810 chipsets are packed with Kyro cores. However, the most exciting part among all the juicy details flooding the internet is about its competition with the best that is currently out there. Yes! The Apple A9 chipset!
A micro blogger from China claims that the upcoming Snapdragon 820 GPU is almost 10 percent faster than the fastest Apple A9 chipset which is currently available in the smart phone market. 10 percent is surely a very interesting figure and if the claims hold true, it could mean super reliability for devices to be launched with the new Snapdragon 820 GPU.
However, we advise our readers to take this news with a pinch of salt as we must note that Apple’s A9 chipset was designed almost a year ago, which means that Apple is currently working on its successor which is surely expected to be better and faster than the A9. So by the time Snapdragon 820 chipsets make a debut in android smart phones, Apple may well have moved ahead in the race once again. However, as of now, Snapdragon seems to have won the battle of chipsets hands down.
Other interesting rumors about the upcoming Snapdragon 820 GPU is that it is 40 percent better in terms of graphic performance and it also cuts down up to 40 percent of power consumption, thus making it power efficient as well.
