Reliance Jio Lyf Phone Explodes Spontaneously, Investigation Underway

So the Galaxy Note 7 isn’t the only one anymore. One of our very own, Reliance Jio Lyf smartphone seems to have joined the Korean phablet in exploding  to smithereens. If some reports are to be believed Reliance Jio’s Lyf phone reportedly exploded and got engulfed in flames on Sunday, 6th of November. The user posted about the incident on Twitter with and image.

“My family had a narrow escape today after @reliancejio ‘s @Reliance_LYF phone exploded & burst into flames” Tariq Tweeted on the micro blogging site. “All those people who have this @Reliance_LYF phone need to be very cautious and careful @reliancejio,” he added in a follow-up tweet.

 

Tariq has stuck to his claims since he first reported the incident on the social network. The LYF phone’s specific model is not yet known. Reliance Jio, on its part has responded to the report by saying that it’s looking into the matter.Complainant Tariq Sadik is the political secretary to the working president of the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference, Omar Abdullah.

“We are concerned about the incident reported in social media and are taking the matter seriously. We are assessing the cause and will conduct a thorough investigation in the matter. Customer safety is paramount to us and, based on our findings, we will take appropriate action (sic),” a Lyf spokesperson was quoted by India Today as saying.

The user was apparently browsing a social network when the phone burst into flames in his very hands.

Customer safety is paramount to us and, based on our findings, we will take appropriate action,” a Reliance spokesperson told PTI.  “Lyf range of phones are designed and manufactured with global standards by some of the world’s leading manufacturers of mobile phones. Each phone goes through a stringent quality control process,” the spokesperson said.
