Xiaomi rolls out phones under two brands; the Redmi caters to the budget buyers while the Mi lineup takes care of the premium segment. The Redmi 4/4a and the 4 Prime are the very recent pocket-friendly launches and now the company is all set to unleash a new phone called the Mi5c into the market. And rumours suggest that the phone will be launched by the company on 6 December instead of the 30 November that was reported earlier.

Xiaomi has been consistent in launching new devices in the market almost every month now. These not only include all new products but also many upgraded versions of the previous models. The Xiaomi Mi5 was one of the first phone lot that was launched by the company this year. Then a couple of months earlier the phone was joined by its upgraded version – the Mi5s. The Mi5s didn’t come alone and was accompanied by a much bigger version, the Mi5s Plus, that sported a dual camera setup.

So expanding the Mi5 range further will be the all new Mi5c. It is believed that the phone will be powered by Xiaomi’s own SoC that goes by the name Pinecone. The phone was listed on a benchmark website that suggested that the Mi5c is codenamed as ‘Meri’. The web portal also revealed a few details of what the phone will be equipped with.
So as mentioned earlier, the phone will get a Pinecone SoC, ARM Cortex A53 Octa-Core processor that is clocked at 2.2Ghz. The phone will get 3GB of RAM and an internal memory of 64GB. The camera setup will include a 12MP and a 8MP unit on the rear and front respectively. The phone will feature Android v6.0 Marshmallow with MiUI 8.0 on top.
