Russian stunter sets himself on fire and jumps off a 10-storey building

Remember the oft-repeated cliché about Russians wrestling bears, scaling skyscrapers, and generally being awesome/crazy, fueled with vodka, and/or Red Bull? To give them credit where due, they do live up to their reputation.

This video comes courtesy of Alexander Chernikov, a daredevil, who set himself on fire and then proceeded to leap from a 90-feet tall building. His only safety measure? A small mound of fresh snow underneath to cushion his descent.

Alexander, of course, was later arrested for the dangerous act, but only after winning the applause of the small crowd who’d formed to watch his stunt. The police reports that he was later hospitalised with burns to his body.

His reason to jump? He wanted to “test” himself while proving that there were “no limits to human possibilities.” Apparently, he is the founder of new extreme sports movement – DBA: “Dominance, Fearlessness, Adrenaline.”

This is not the first time Chernikov has made headlines in Russia; a few years back he gained widespread notoriety after uploading video of a similar jump from the roof of a six-storey building.
