Users in Hungary have reported that their Samsung Galaxy Note 4 have begun receiving an OS update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Galaxy Note 4 users after updating to the latest android version will also be able to use the Screen off memo function, which the company launched with Galaxy Note 5. This function allows one to quickly take a note even when the display is turned off. It can come in very handy while one is busy with some task, which does not involve handling the phone. It was also very well accepted by Note 5 users.
The update also reportedly brings in a new Air Command Menu, which until now was limited to the new Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+. Google has brought in a host of changes with the latest update, some of which include new icons, slicker UI and fluid animations. Some of the other technical features that are being introduced are Google Now on tap, New Chrome browser feature, Android Pay mobile payment system, new fingerprint APIs, New Silent feature to distinguish between sound and vibrate modes, Do Not Disturb mode to block all sounds, new battery saver features, etc.
As per the update roadmap that was leaked online last month, Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ were the first in line to receive the update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The next in line were Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, which was scheduled in January. The Galaxy Note 4 was scheduled to get the update only in February. But the fact that the devices are receiving the update now means that the company has made certain changes to the aforementioned roadmap.
