Samsung has taken the wraps off the Galaxy Note 5, its latest granddaddy of the phablet world, in a glitterati-studded event in New York City. The phone will go on sale in South Korea next month, with US set to follow sometime later. The UK and Europe, unfortunately, aren’t getting Samsung’s flagship for now, and probably never will.
The biggest update Samsung has made to the Note 5 is the design, something that users have always derided the company for. This time round, Samsung has put design front and center of the Note 5, and it clearly shows. Like the Galaxy S6, the Note 5 adopts an all metal and glass bodywork, giving it the most premium fit and finish of any Note to date. It also features a curved glass rear panel with tapered edges, similar to the front design of the Galaxy S6 edge and S6 edge+, that Samsung says makes it easier to grip.
The Note’s signature S Pen stylus is alive and present in the fifth iteration, and as expected, the Note 5 comes with the very cutting edge and fastest hardware possible in modern smartphones today.
