Samsung Galaxy S6 goes on sale in the US on April 10; preorders start tomorrow

US customers, starting tomorrow, you will be able to place your pre-order for either of Samsung’s newest additions to the Galaxy S line, with nationwide availability starting on April 10th. The Galaxy S6 and S6 edge will both be available on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular and Verizon Wireless. Boost Mobile, Cricket Wireless and MetroPCS will just be offering the Galaxy S6.

Samsung has also confirmed that 32GB, 64GB and 128GB versions of all three will be on sale. This follows initial confusion over whether the Galaxy S6 Edge would be limited to 64GB and 128GB models. Colour options are Black Sapphire, White Pearl and Gold Platinum.

The Galaxy S6 represents a major overhaul is how the company builds its smartphones. The redesign, also codenamed “Project Zero,” is arguably the biggest one since the Galaxy S3, a device that sold very well but also represented a bad trend for the company’s smartphones.

Both the phones feature 5.1-inch, qHD Super AMOLED displays, 32, 64, or 128GB of internal storage, Samsung’s octacore Exynos processors, and 16-megapixel cameras with optical image stabilization.

On AT&T, the 32GB version of the Galaxy S6 starts at $22.84 per month for 30 months on AT&T’s Next 24 plan, which works out to about a $685.20 off-contract price. The Galaxy S6 Edge is $27.17 per month for 30 months, which makes the Edge about $130 more for the off-contract price.

T-Mobile is charging roughly the same for the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge: the former will run $28.33 per month on a 24 month plan, while the latter will cost $32.49 per month for the same time span. That works out to $679.92 and $779.76, respectively. However, T-Mobile is sweetening the deal with a free year of Netflix, which is worth $107.88 on its own, making it pretty attractive if you’re already a Netflix subscriber.

Other carriers are expected to release their pricing shortly. Stay tuned.
