Samsung Galaxy S8

Samsung Galaxy S8’s price could breach the Rs.70,000 mark; Colour options leaked

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 will not be launched at the MWC 2017. However, Samsung will release a teaser video which could possibly reveal the phone’s launch date. However, in some new information that has been floating around before the phone’s release, Sony has been roped in as the third battery supplier for the S8 – the other two being Samsung SDI and Japan’s Murata Manufacturing.

However, the big information is that a Ukrainian retailer’s database has given away prices of the yet to be launched flagship phone. Apparently, a Samsung Galaxy S8 (SM-G950) and Galaxy S8 Plus (SM-G955) were listed in the retailer’s database in Black, Gold, and Orchid Gray colors. And although prices were mentioned in Ukrainian currency Hryvnia, it translates to $950(Approx Rs.63,700) for the S8 and $1050(Approx Rs.70,400) for the S8 Plus variant. If Samsung sticks to these prices, it will make their new flagship more expensive than its predecessor, the Galaxy S7.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S8 at a special event in New York on March 29th. However, expect that to be confirmed when the manufacturer makes any announcement at the MWC in a weeks time. The Galaxy S8 is expected to arrive featuring a pressure sensitive display, a dual camera setup, and a dedicated AI assistant called Bixby. Both, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will feature a 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch dual-edge curved displays and boast of an impressive screen-to-body ratio.
