Apple has introduced Live Photos in iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. Samsung, a South Korean consumer electronics giant plans to launch an answer to it by including the feature in its next upcoming Smartphone Galaxy S7 flagship. As per an unnamed Samsung software engineer’s comment in a report, the features will be rolled out in software updates of other Galaxy handsets as well. The features will be called either Vivid Photos or Timeless Photos as per android Geeks report. The report also states no sounds will be captured with the photo. Users will be able to share resultant images in the form of gif images easily on Facebook or other social media. There has been no official statement about the launch of the Smartphone from Samsung yet.
Samsung is planning to launch three variants of the Galaxy S7. It will also be launching Galaxy S7 Edge and the Galaxy S7 Edge+ along with it. Samsung will be utilizing the Mobile World Congress event for the launch of the phones as suggested by multiple reports. The event is to be held from February 22 to February 25. The Smartphone will be offering its users with top-of-the-line hardware specifications and features. It would also include an iris scanner. Earlier Galaxy was going to be unpacked during an event scheduled for February 20.
Galaxy S7 will be having a 5.1-inch Super Amoled display with a resolution of 1440×2560 pixels. Galaxy S7 Edge will sport a.5-inch Super Amoled display also with QHD resolution i.e. 1440×2560 pixels resolution. The phones will be powered by Exynos 8 octa-core (Exynos 8890) or Snapdragon 820 processor. They will have 4 GB of RAM with either 32 GB or 64 GB storage option. The phone supports up to 200 GB microSD card. The phones pack a 12-megapixel camera with f/1.7 aperture in the front.
