Samsung to Soon Launch 7-Inch ‘Made In India’ Tablet

The South Korean tech giant – Samsung has started sending media invites for a launch this week. It is expected that Samsung will be launching a new tablet in India. As of now, nothing has been confirmed about the tablet by the company. However, according to some industry experts, the company is likely to launch a “Made in India” tablet. Experts opine that the tablet will feature 1.5 GB RAM under the hood. Additionally, a 7 inch display is also being expected from the device. The RAM and the display size match with that of the Galaxy A 7.0 (2016) tablet. There is however a key change, and that is an 8 MP rear camera instead of a 5 MP rear camera on the Galaxy A. No other detail is currently known about the unannounced tablet.

The upcoming 7-inch Galaxy A (2016) tablet was earlier listed on the company’s Dutch website, complete with all the specifications. As per that listing, the tablet boasts of a 7-inch display supporting 1280 x 800 pixels resolution. It also packs a quad-core 1.3 GHz processor that is clubbed with 1.5 GB of RAM. There is 8 GB of onboard storage which can be further expanded via a microSD card. A 5 megapixel primary camera and a 2 megapixel secondary camera complete the list of specifications.

Samsung claims that the rear camera of the tablet will be capable of recording HD videos. The tablet will run on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and will offer connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and microUSB. Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) will pack a 4,000 mAh battery and also come with a Kids Mode. Recently, Samsung also launched its Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016) smart phones in India. Both the aforementioned smart phones are available for as low as INR 2,989 each, as part of an exchange offer.
