Samsung’s J3 featuring Bike Mode to be available on Snapdeal for INR 8900

Last week Samsung India launched its new smart phone christened the J3, featuring one of a kind S-Bike Mode. This device has been attractively priced at INR 8900 and will soon be available on Snapdeal. The budget smart phone has been specifically targeted towards bike riders who cannot receive calls while riding due to safety concerns. In a country like India where bikes are used more for transportation rather than sport, this indeed is a much welcome feature that the biking fraternity is going to try with their hands on.

The device comes with an NFC tag, which has to be paired with the device. The tag then works as a call assistant to bikers. People calling the number at a time when the person is riding will hear a recorded message that says the recipient is riding a bike at the moment. The caller will also get a chance to get through to the biker if the matter deserves urgent attention because the feature will provide for emergency situations, which will get the call through and the rider can then answer the call but only after parking the bike.

Asim Warsi, the Senior Vice President of Samsung India Electronics addressed the media and said, the phone is offering specific features built to suit the resonance in several developing markets where Samsung operates. Among other features, the device comes with a 5 inch HD super Amoled display. The handset is powered by a 1.5 GHz processor coupled with 1.5 GB RAM. The device comes with 8 GB of inbuilt storage which can be increased up to 128 GB with the help of Micro SD card. The device will be available with Android 5.1 lollipop. The company has made no statement regarding future availability of Android 6.0 on this device.
