Shia LaBeouf shows off his freestyle rapping skills in latest viral stunt

Shia LaBeouf really seems to have gotten it nailed down, this knack of staying in the news even when he isn’t doing the promo rounds for a new movie, especially when he isn’t doing the promo rounds for a new movie. The spoofs and the mash-ups of his ready-to-customize inspirational rant have barely died down, but the former Transformers megastar is back with a new viral video.

In this one, the 29-year old shows off his freestyle rapping skills, his unmistakable rat-tail slung over his shoulder. Unlike the professionally made inspirational video, this one appears to be inpomptru, with the shirtless actor looking like he’s simply entertaining a group of amused/bewildered teenagers with his heretofore unseen emcee skills. Still, with Shia, you never know.

Be warned the video is vertical and, as you’d expect from the Nymphomaniac actor, it contains NSFW language.

“Watch him ’cause he’s sick when he be coming with these bars and s–t,” he raps confidently and is praised from the crowd. LaBeouf isn’t exactly the best emcee even asking the audience at one point to “give him words.” Regardless, he is certainly feeling himself in the video.

When someone mentioned Transformers, LaBeouf responded, “Nah, none of that.’Transformers’ is the dummy rap and I’m so past that.”

There’s no word on when the video was shot, but LaBeouf had a rough week when a stunt went awry on the set of a new film. The stunt reportedly involved the actor putting his head through a plate glass window, but a mistake led to cuts on his head and hand that required 20 stitches. He was expected to return to the set the next day.

This isn’t the first time LaBeouf has been involved with rap. Besides directing a video for rapper Kid Cudi, previously, LaBeouf was recorded rapping on camera in a recording studio. And then there’s the song “Dig It Up” from his 2003 film Holes.
