Solarin – the Costliest Smart Phone Launched by Sirin Labs

Israeli start-up Sirin Labs has officially launched their new smart phone named Solarin. This Android smart phone is priced at $14,000 which is more than INR 9 lakh. This handset promises chip-to-chip 256-bit encryption same like those used by the military to protect communications. Being so costly it is called the Rolls Royce of smart phones. This new smart phone Solarin is activated with the help of a physical security switch which is on the on the back side. Venturebeat.com reports that at an event in London on Tuesday Sirin Labs launched Solarin, their new most costly smart phone.

Solarin comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor that promises very superior Wi-Fi connectivity. This smart phone has a 23.8MP primary camera and a 5.5 inch IPS LED 2K resolution screen. It also promises the most advanced privacy technology, currently unavailable outside the agency world. Sirin Labs is working in collaboration with communication security firm KoolSpan. Sirin Labs say that they wanted to create the most advanced mobile device that combined the highest privacy settings, operated faster than any other phone, built with the best materials from around the world.

The CEO and cofounder of Sirin Labs, Tal Cohen was quoted as saying Cyber attacks are endemic across the globe. This trend is on the increase. Solarin is pioneering new, uncompromising privacy measures to provide customers with greater confidence and the reassurance necessary to handle business-critical information. Fredrik Oijer, the Vice President of products at Sirin Labs added that every single design decision and material choice was based on performance and functionality. The device which is meant especially for the rich and famous is available at Sirin Labs first retail store in Mayfair, 34 Bruton Place, London from June 1 and at Harrods, Knightsbridge from June 30.
