Sony launches portable wireless speakers

Sony has launched the SRS-XB3, a portable wireless speaker on 2nd May for INR 12,990. The speaker has been designed for electronic dance music and also features Extra Bass technology, which turns out to be the highlight of the device. The one-touch Extra Bass button functions to start processing the audio signal and boost the bass to create a high impact sound. The speaker of the device is water resistant, and has the ability to resist light splashes. The deep bass is achieved with the help of a powerful magnet and a long drive.

The speaker is able to pair with music devices over Bluetooth or even NFC.  The speakers have been equipped to be set up in multiple configurations. A single speaker has been given the capability of being placed vertically or horizontally on any surface. Two of these wireless speakers can also be paired up and used together. While using two paired speakers, the company has made it possible to blast the same sound from both speakers at a time, or configure the two speakers to work in stereo mode. Each unit comes with two channel speakers plus two radiators.

The speaker also functions as a portable battery. Smart phones or other electronic devices that support charging through USB port, can be charged with a USB cable connected to the speaker. The speaker is powered by a huge 8800 mAh battery. According to the company, the continuous playback time of the device is reported to be 24 hours. The speakers are available in six colours, viz. red, yellow, green, blue, Light brown and black. Availability of particular colours though, varies from region to region.
