In July, Sony launched their all new Xperia XA Ultra that was dubbed as the ultimate phone for selfie lovers due to its powerful camera configuration. This 6-inch phablet was launched for a price of INR 29,990. Now, Sony has gone ahead to extend the X series to a more premium segment with their latest smartphone – Sony Xperia XZ. Priced at INR 51,990 the Xperia XZ is a camera focused device and has a lot of tech and features added to its improved hardware.
The Sony Xperia XZ gets a loop surface design that is inspired by a monolithic form crafted out of a bespoke Alkaleido metal. On the front is a 5.2-inch FullHD Triluminos display protected by Gorilla Glass 4. The device is Water Resistant IP65/68 certified. The fingerprint sensor is integrated with the power button and is placed on the side of the phone.
At the heart of the Xperia XZ is Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 2.15 GHz 64-bit processor coupled with Adreno 510 GPU. It gets 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory that can be expanded upto 256GB. Moving on to the USP of the XZ, the camera unit on the rear is a 23MP module with triple image sensing technology and at the front is a 13 MP wide angle camera. The XZ is also claimed to be the world’s first smartphone with 5-axis video stabilization.
Xperia XZ has a 2900 mAh battery with Qnovo Adaptive Charging and Battery Care that optimizes battery charging based on user behavior and battery condition, to deliver up to two times battery life span. The company provides a Quick Charger UCH12 in the box. Other features include – dual SIM (GSM) capabilities, VoLTE, ViLTE, VoWiFi, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and NFC. Sensors on the phone include Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor, Accelerometer, and Gyroscope. It comes with Type-C USB for easy charging with no more upside down cable. The device is pre-loaded with Android Marshmallow and Android Nougat will be available via firmware upgrade in the coming months.
