Soon after K4 Note India launch, Lenovo launches the K5 Note in China

The dust on Lenovo’s K4 Note has not yet settled, and the company has already revealed its successor. Lenovo has launched the K5 Note in China. Available in gold and silver option, it will be made available via flash sale for a price of ¥1099 which translates to around INR 11,300. While the nomenclature makes it look like a successor, it could just be a variant specifically designed for the China market. This hypothesis is put forth considering both devices feature almost same specs and the K4 Note hasn’t been launched in China.

K5 Note

The Lenovo K5 Note boasts of an all-metal body. It sports a large 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display, similar to the one found on the K4 Note. It gets the standard 13MP rear snapper with PDAF autofocus and f/2.2 aperture and an 8MP front-facing camera. It also sports Dolby Atmos powered speakers. The phone comes equipped with a fingerprint scanner as well.

In the insides, it gets a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor which is clocked at 1.8 GHz and 2 GB of RAM. The 16 GB onboard storage, which is standard, is expandable up to 128 GB via a microSD card slot. It runs 5.1 Lollipop with a layer of company’s Vibe UI on top. The device comes with a support for 4G LTE along with other usual connectivity options such as GPRS / EDGE, 3G, A-GPS, Bluetooth and microUSB.

What makes this launch interesting is that the company just released the K4 Note featuring same display, 3GB RAM and a fingerprint scanner. The device seems to be aimed primarily for multimedia consumption. It comes with a curved back and measures 3.8mm in thickness. It is powered by an octa-core 64-bit Mediatek MT6753 processor and it also comes equipped with dual front facing speaker by Dolby along with Dolby Atmos surround sound.
