The first trailer for Alejandro González Iñárritu’s The Revenant starring Leonardo DiCaprio has landed

20th Century Fox has released the first trailer for Academy Award-winning director (Birdman, Babel) Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s new film, The Revenant.

Written by Iñárritu and Mark L. Smith and based on the novel by Michael Punke, The Revenant is based on true events. Leonardo DiCaprio plays Hugh Glass, a fur trapper who is brutally injured in a clash with a bear. His colleague John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy) robs him and leaves him for dead, but Glass survives against all odds and vows revenge on Fitzgerald. The film also stars Domhnall Gleeson and Will Poulter.

“The Revenant” from New Regency and 20th Century Fox hits theaters on Christmas Day before going wide in January.
