The Witcher 3 will reportedly eat up 50GB of your PS4’s hard drive

Remember the time we told you about the upcoming open world epic fantasy game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s eyewatering system requirements for PC? Well, if you were planning on coping out of that by playing it on a PlayStation, we have got some news for you. CD Projekt’s ambitious game will reportedly gobble up around 50GB of hard drive space on your PS4.

Though neither CD Projekt Red nor Sony have confirmed the figure, it certainly sounds like it’s legit. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt continues the story of Geralt, as he embarks on a new and personal mission. The world is set to be 30 times larger than in previous games in the series, and will feature a second playable character in the form of Ciri. Considering the fact we’re dealing with a massive open world that’s reportedly around 64 square kilometers, you can imagine the amount of space required. In 2014, Grand Theft Auto 5 on PS4 clocked in around the same size. Bioware’s RPG Dragon Age: Inquisition required 40-46GB.

There’s no news yet on the Xbox One version of The Witcher 3, but it will probably match the PS4 version. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is being released on May 19. Like we said, this better be worth it.
