Trevor Noah shows off “powerful” ass in his first Daily Show promo

What better way to debut on Comedy Central than with the help of Kanye West? Trevor Noah has finally taken a seat at The Daily Show desk, in the chair that was formerly Jon Stewart‘s, with a little help from the self-proclaimed world’s greatest living rockstar.

For those of you out of the loop with the late night TV shenanigans, it’s been less than two weeks since Jon Stewart abdicated his anchor chair at The Daily Show, but we still have about six weeks before his successor, Trevor Noah, premieres. This short teaser promoting the new show promises “Same Chair. Different Ass.” In it, the new host manages not to say a word, but still get in a subtle jab at his predecessor in the literal and figurative height department. Striding out in a slick suit to the tune of Kanye West’s “Power,” Trevor Noah assumes the position behind the desk Stewart made so influential and famous. The 30-second spot also gives us a first glimpse of the slightly changed set, which Noah mentioned earlier this month at the Television Critics Association summer press tour.

“I have a very vague picture of the show right now,” Noah told GQ in an interview last month. “It’ll be like a face-lift. Because, don’t get it twisted, I’m a big fan of The Daily Show, and that’s what it’s still gonna be. It’s still gonna be The Daily Show. It’s the same way, when Fallon took over from Leno, it’s still The Tonight Show.”

“Just the mere fact that I’m gonna be there in the chair changes a whole bunch of the show, you know?” he added.

The Daily Show returns with Noah to Comedy Central on September 28.
