Nokia is all prepped up with its comeback and it seems the brand is leaving no stone unturned in order to make the best out of this opportunity. Nokia will use the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2017 as the launched pad for its new smartphone, D1C. Previously, Nokia had been adamant in not using Android OS for their phones and had also brought Microsoft onboard to ventilate their phones with some Windows! Now, Nokia has licensed HMD Global to roll out the new devices under an exclusive global brand for the next decade.
Last month (November 2016) some details of the upcoming Nokia D1C were leaked online along with a host of images. The reports suggested that that the D1C will get metallic unibody with rounded edges. The colour options offered with it shall include – Gold, White, and Black. On seeing the images we observed that the D1C in the golden shade seemed to have more features on it than the one in the White. The noticeable difference of the former was that it came equipped with a fingerprint sensor integrated in its home button while the White just used three touch capacitive buttons at the bottom.
While that was a difference noticed, new reports have emerged that state that the D1C will be available in two variants sporting a different set of equipment and specs. Here are the details:
Two variants will get a 5inch and 5.5-inch screen with 2GB and 3GB RAM respectively. The Camera setup will also vary, with the smaller variant coming with 13MP unit and the relatively bigger version getting the 16MP rear camera. There were rumors stating that the D1C will be a high-end smartphone and will feature Snapdragon 821 SoC, but a new update state that Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor is considered for the D1C.
Other features to be expected on both variants are as follows:
- Adreno 505 GPU
- Android 7.0 Nougat
- 16GB inbuilt storage
- 8-megapixel camera at the front.
- Carl Zeiss lens for the rear camera
- Waterproof construction
