Upcoming Phone Launch: Oppo A57 to say Hello on February 3

A new purpose built cellphone for people who love clicking themselves will soon go on sale. The Oppo A57, with a 16MP front facing camera will be launched on February 3. Launched in China in November, the device has been priced there at CNY 1599 (Approx Rs. 16,000) and is available in shades of Rose Gold and Gold. Pricing for India has not been revealed yet, however, expect the phone to be priced in the same ballpark as its Chinese retail price.

The Oppo A57 is powered by an Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 SoC that has been clocked at 1.4 GHz. Backed by 3GB of RAM and Adreno 505 for graphics, the phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, with Oppo’s ColosOS 3.0 UI on top. The screen measures 5.2-inch, has 2.5D curved glass on top and is an HD (720×1280) display. Powering all that is a 2900 mAh battery.

The phone features a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, while the rear lens is a 13-megapixel unit with an aperture of f/2.2, PDAF, and gets an LED flash module for company. A fingerprint scanner is embedded in the front facing ‘Home’ button. The Oppo A57 comes with an inbuilt storage of 32GB, which can be further expanded via a microSD card (up to 128GB). Connectivity options in the smartphone include 4G LTE, GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth v4.1, Wi-Fi, GPS, USB, and 3.5mm audio jack.
