If the newly launched iPhone 6S, or any top-end Android device, are too plebian for you, there’s only one brand that can rescue you from the ignominy of having to tote a phone that every other Tom and his uncle are brandishing. British luxury smartphone maker Vertu has taken the wraps off its latest Signature Touch, and now it finally has the features to match its staggering price tag.
For starters, the Vertu Signature Touch now runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box, and packs a Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage with an additional 64GB of storage from an included microSD card. The phone’s sapphire display is also kicked up to 5.2-inches with a 1080p resolution, and there’s a 3,160mAh battery inside powering the whole thing.
As far as cameras are concerned, there’s a 21MP shooter round back with a 2.1MP front-facing camera. The smartphone also packs support for QuickCharge 2.0 and Qi wireless charging.
And, of course, there’s the reason that Vertu’s phones come in at nearly $10,000 a pop: services. The company’s latest Signature Touch smartphone comes with 18 months of concierge service, through which users have access to a dedicated line for setting up travel arrangements, finding gifts, and much, much more.
If you happen to be the owner of an oil company or rule a small Gulf country, the new Vertu Signature Touch will go up for pre-order at Harrods in the UK and “at selected boutiques globally” between September 25 and October 8. Prices start at around $9,900 and will go all the way up to $20,900 depending on your choice of materials, but that is a drop in the ocean for Your Highness, isn’t it?
