Volkswagen (VW) Denmark has come up with a new idea to make it easier for Danes to buy a new Up city car! The Up is a part of Volkswagen’s New Small Family car series and now will be up for grabs online. This move by the car manufacturer is executed to suit the shopping behaviour of the Danish customers who prefer buying more and more over the internet. The online deal can be done through Volkswagen’s regional website that caters the aforementioned region.
The official statement of the company states ‘through the simple, user-friendly and quick website buyers can pay for or finance their new Up and can have it delivered to them within ten working days The procedure is the same as normal online shopping – users have to enter payment details and make transaction. Users can even pay by using your mobile phone (via MobilePay).
On the initiative, Volkswagen’s Danish CEO, Ulrik Drejsig expressed that there has been a dramatic increase in e-commerce in Denmark in recent years, and the Danish E-business Association (FDIH) estimates total turnover of DKK 100 billion in 2016 alone. Danish consumers clearly buy lots of goods online, and VW believes that it’s an obvious step to offer customers their new car online.
He further added that VW’s strategy is to make buying a car online easy, user-friendly and quick. Customers should feel safe buying online and truly believe that solution guarantees this. They are fully aware that picking up a new car from the dealer means a lot to the customer’s total experience of the purchase.
Consequently, customers who purchase their cars online will pick up their new up! from their local Volkswagen dealer. Due to the fact that we can order the cars for delivery to our central warehouse in Denmark, the only things that take time are registration, vehicle preparation and transport.
Coming to the specifications, the new up! gets a 1.0 TSI turbocharged engine. It produces a power of around 88.7 Bhp and a maximum torque of 160 Nm. This 3-pot engine is the most powerful motor and the first turbo unit for the up! It helps the new up! to attain a top speed of 185 km/h, and go from 0-100kmph in 10. Along with this turbo unit the up! is also available with two 3-cylinder units with multi-point injection (MPI) that deliver 59 Bhp and 73 Bhp each.
