Vivo X9 with Dual Front Camera Launched For CNY 2798 or INR 27500, X9 Plus Unveiled

Vivo has launched its new X9 smartphone in China boasting a dual front camera setup. The bigger X9 Plus has also been unveiled, but not officially launched. The dual front cameras on the phones will comprise 20Mp and 8MP sensors. Focused on the selfie obsessed narcissists, the front camera setup on the X9 / X9 Plus duo looks impressive, at least on paper.

The 20 MP unit on the X9 gets a Sony IMX376 sensor with a physical size of 1/2.8″. The aperture size for this module is f/2.0. The smaller 8.0 MP module is essentially meant for measuring depth, and in all likelihood will help create better selfies with retroactive depth of field editing option.

The X9 gets a 5.5-inch, Full HD screen with Super AMOLED tech. Powering the phone is the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 SoC along with 4GB of RAM. Storage options are 64GB or 128GB. The phone’s dimensions stand at 152.6 x 74 x 6.99 mm and it weighs 154 grams.

The camera on the back panel is a 16MP unit with an f/2.0 aperture, phase detection auto focus and a single LED flash. The phone gets dual SIM capability, a finger print sensor and a 3050 mAh battery. 4G LTE with VoLTE is also supported.

The Vivo X9 Plus gets a slightly bigger 5.88 inch screen. However, the processor is more powerful here in the form of the Snapdragon 653 along with a higher 6GB of RAM. Internal storage is also 128GB with no 64GB option. Thanks to its larger size, the X9 Plus also boast 4,000 mAh of significantly higher battery size. Everything else, including the cameras are same as the X9.

The X9 goes on sale in China immediately with a price tag of CNY 2798, US$406 or INR 27,500 for the 64GB model. The X9 with 128 GB storage would cost CNY 2998, US$ $430 or INR 29,000.

The prices for the X9 Plus have not been revealed and will be made public on December 26.

Both phones are available in shades of Gold or Rose Gold.
