Watch: This is how the epic battle scenes of Game of Thrones ‘Hardhome’ were created

For many of us, Game of Thrones Season 5 was more than just a bit underwhelming. For most part, the episodes kept the audience waiting for the plot to take a pleasant or vicious turn. The fifth instalment of the mega-successful TV series didn’t quite match the high standards set by the first four seasons. That said, the fifth season had its some of its own high points, and Hardhome was one of the episodes which thrilled and entertained the audience from beginning till end.

Shot on a massive scale, the episode saw Jon Snow battling it out with the Wildlings, hitherto known to be the enemies of the Watch, against the Whitewalkers and the Wights. His bravado cost him his life eventually, but that didn’t take anything away from the episode as global audience watched medieval battle carnage at its very best ever on TV. While most of us gasp in awe looking at those grand sets, some graphic geeks chuckle at our ignorance clicking their magical mice and creating those amazing worlds.
