The Nokia 3310 is breathtakingly tough, we all know that. It is so tough that it is the subject of countless memes on the internet, along with Chuck Norris. In these days of touchscreen phones that crack and shatter after a single fall on the sidewalk, the Nokia 3310’s ruggedness has become the subject of myth now.
But, jokes and memes aside, how tough is the Nokia 3300 really? Like, for instance, can it take on infamous YouTube channel Carsandwater’s signature red hot nickel ball? Or, as its makers call it, the dreaded RHNB that has bested everything from Jello to ping pong balls to Gorilla Glue?
Sadly, as it turns out, the only phone that you could run over with a tank or drop off the Empire State building or chuck across a parking lot into a burning building can’t quite live up to the torture of a RHNB. But still, it puts up an admirable fight and the thick plastic shield actually does a decent job protecting the innards of the phone.
Besides, it is something of a perverse pleasure watching it melt.
