Microsoft and 343 Industries have released a short teaser for the heavily anticipated Halo 5: Guardians video game. The footage follows a bullet getting shot out of a gun as it crashes into Master Chief’s helmet, shattering it. It ends with the Halo 5: Guardians logo and the hashtag #HuntTheTruth. The official Halo twitter account also tweeted the bullet image last week asking “Who is the Traitor?”
The 15-second teaser also links to a Tumblr bearing that name with a countdown clock that stops Sunday night at 9 PM Eastern. The site features an audio series by fictional journalist and war photographer Benjamin Giraud, who was hired to do an in-depth profile on the Master Chief.
Launching this fall exclusively on Xbox One, Halo 5: Guardians continues the story of the Master Chief, and introduces a brand new central character to the Halo universe – Spartan Locke (as seen in the live action series “Halo: Nightfall”).
It’s fun when game companies find a way to spice up marketing campaigns, and the Halo series has a rich history of involving fans. Remember I Love Bees? That one involved pay phones! Do they still exist?
