A Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is reportedly in the works and could see light of the day in May 2017. The device is rumored to be powered by a yet to be launched Snapdragon 660 SoC, and could be backed with 6GB of RAM. Screen size will remain the same as its predecessor though, and the Mi Max 2 is tipped to feature a 6.44-inch display which is surrounded by very thin bezels on the sides. The phone could ship with 128GB of onboard storage and powering all the hardware could be a massive 5000 mAh battery with support for fast charge.
The Xiaomi Mi Max was launched in India in May 2016 and retails at Rs. 14,999. It is powered by a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor, which is backed with 3GB of RAM. The phone packs 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. The Xiaomi Mi Max packs a 16-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 5-megapixel front shooter. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box and weighs a hefty 203 grams. Powering the Mi Max is a 4850 mAh non-removable battery. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, Infrared, USB OTG, FM, and 4G. Sensors on the phone include a Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor and a Gyroscope.
