Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime receives a price cut

Chinese smart phone maker Xiaomi, has officially slashed the price of Redmi Note Prime. The handset was initially launched at a price of INR 8,499 and will now be available at INR 7,999 via Amazon and the Mi store. Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime was launched last year and holds the credit for being the second smart phone manufactured under the ‘Make in India’ initiative of the government. The smart phone is an enhanced version of Redmi Note 4G with dual SIM slots, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory which is expandable up to 32GB. The phone also has a Snapdragon 410 64-bit processor.

The smart phone has a 5.5- inch HD IPS display with 1280 X 720 pixel resolution and 267 PPI. It packs 3100mAh Lithium-ion polymer battery and boasts of 13MP f/2.4 rear camera and 5MP f/2.2 front-facing camera. Along with this, the Chinese company has also slashed the price of Xiaomi Mi4 and Mi 4i smart phones as part of the Mi Week starting from February 16. Both the handsets have got a price cut of INR 2,000. The Xiaomi Mi 4 (16GB) is available with a price tag of INR 12,999, while the Xiaomi Mi 4i is selling at a price of INR 9,999. This offer will reportedly last till February 19.

Xiaomi is also gearing up to launch its new flagship device Mi 5 at MWC 2016. According to earlier leaks, Xiaomi Mi 5 will have a 5.5-inch screen with 2K (1440×2560) pixel resolution and will run on the recently-launched 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset. Said to be available in 16, 64 and 128GB storage options, the smart phone will have a huge 4GB of RAM. Xiaomi will reportedly use Android 5.1-based MIUI 6 in Mi 5. The smart phone will also have a 20MP rear camera and 8MP front snapper. The 4G-capable top-end handset will feature a 3,800mAh battery and come in black and white colour options.
