Xiaomi has launched a first of its kind smart watch for kids in China. The device is called Mi Bunny, and as the name suggests, is meant exclusively for kids. The device packs in a lot of features that can come in handy for parents to track their kids. The smart watch looks attractive for kids to wear, it is also armed with advanced technological features like GPS, Wi-Fi, GLONASS along with an embedded sim card. Parents have the choice to mark a certain perimeter or route as safe area on the app in the smart watch. The moment the kid leaves the aforementioned area, a notification will be issued on the parent’s smart phone. This can come in very handy to monitor a child’s whereabouts. The device is waterproof and has also been equipped with a panic button and calls from unknown numbers are automatically rejected.
The company explained on its website, you can easily find out the location of your child. If he arrives or leaves the setting area, you will receive a notification! Also the device supports voice calls. Set 6 family numbers and communicate with your kids freely. Even if your child is not around, the family can interact with him through the App.
The Mi Bunny, like the Mi Band, also tracks sleep quality and other activities. The device features an LED dot matrix display and comes with silicone wrist straps. It is powered by a 300 mAh battery and is compatible with smart phones running Android 4.2 and above or iOS 8 and above. The device costs CNY 299 in China which is approximately equal to INR 3,000. However, the company has not revealed any launch plans for the same in India.
