Yahoo Messenger brings in new update with new features

India being a multicultural country, there are hoardes of people who prefer communicating in languages other than English. Yahoo messenger, with its latest update is targeting these very people who prefer communicating in their own native languages. This trend was first observed in some other messenger apps, wherein they garnered a huge user base of people from India. The fun of communicating is at times lost when one has to translate thoughts and ideas from their native language into English – a global language – the default in most messenger apps. It is rightly said that some phrases and words are best communicated in the language of their origin.

The second most populous country in the world has a lot to offer in terms of user base to such companies whose business relies upon users communicating with each other. Adding native languages to the system can help get in these users who were earlier hesitant to use the applications, either due to incompetence with English in general or being uncomfortable using it for communication purposes. Several companies are already running to provide internet connectivity to the masses who are yet to reap the benefits of the technology, especially in rural areas. Google is the front runner among them, setting up its project loon in India.

The recent update will sync with the contact list and match people with similar language setting. This can aid people in communicating with the people based on common language preferences. Another feature added is the ability to ‘unsend’ any text, message, image or other data. All these features put together makes the new update seem very interesting. To enable all these features, one will need to update their apps from their respective app stores. Let us know your thoughts and opinions on the same through the comments section below.
