Samsung is gearing up to launch the 2017 version of its Galaxy A range of phones. The 2017 Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 are on their way, and seems like our friends at Sammobile have managed to decipher what they’re made of. There apparently is confirmed information of some of the phone models having been imported to India.  The specification of A7, in particular seems to have been leaked, and it looks rather interesting.

The biggest news is that the phone will likely get IP68 certification for resistance to water and dust, which is surprising as Samsung has kept that feature only for its top of the line phones till now. According to the report, the A7 will get a 5.7 inch Full HD 1080p Super AMOLED display with a 16 megapixel camera both front and back. The rear unit will get a large f/1.9 aperture for some solid low light performance.

Powering the A7 will most likely be the Exynos 7880 SoC clocking 1.8GHz with 3GB of RAM. Internal storage would be a decent 32GB expandable with a microSD card slot. The phone is rumored to be 7.8mm thin with length and breadth slated to be 157.69 x 76.92 mm.

If the reports are to be believed, the phone will also get a fingerprint sensor and a USB Type-C port.Connectivity options will include  LTE, dual-band gigabit Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. Battery size would be a large-ish 3600 mAh.

Operating system, though not confirmed, will most likely be the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Expect the phone to be launched sometime in December 2016. Watch this space for more updates on the model.
