Apple may introduce the 32 GB variant in iPhone7 as the base model

Although not confirmed it is said that the latest iPhone 7  will introduce the much needed change. Looking at Apple’s supply chain an analyst claims that the Cupertino giant, Apple will introduce the 32GB variant as the base model. This new model is expected to be priced at $ 199. To make these claims, Kevin Wang, the IHS Technology analyst took to Chinese social media with the help of 9to5Mac. If the claims made turn out to be correct then soon we will see Apple discarding the 16 GB variant and again introducing the 32 GB variant. Currently we find Apple’s iPhone devices being sold in 16 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB variants

Last year too Apple’s fans had hoped that Apple will introduce the 32 GB base model, but to their disappointment they found Apple continuing to market the 16 GB model as its base variant. In 2008 the 16 GB variant was for the first time introduced by the company and from 2012 ever since the iPhone 5 was introduced it has remained as the base model. In today’s date when most of the entertainment is consumed and recorded on smart phones the 16 GB storage space is very little.

The shift to a 32 GB base model makes sense in more ways than one especially due to the increase of the app culture, along with 4K recording capacity. Wang further claims that the iPhone 7 will come with 2 GB of RAM, similar to the iPhone 6s. According to earlier leaks  Apple is expected to increase the RAM to 3 GB in its bigger 5.5-inch model to accommodate the camera set up which was earlier rumored to be dual camera setup.Besides the 32 GB variant, the analyst did not mention the other storage variants that will come along with it.
