Are Moto Z phones Better Than Moto X?

With one long sweeping shot of evolution Lenovo, the company that now owns Motorola Mobility, just killed the iconic Moto X and the Moto Droid. It is of the modular kind that will allow users to share new smart phone experiences. The new age Moto phones, Moto Z and the Moto Z Force, are stuffed with, not only top of the line hardware, but also top of the line premium looks. The long term fans and enthusiasts of the Moto X may be irked, as they are not like any Moto phone that Motorola and Lenovo has ever built, and also because their hopes were raised and memories brought back by  Lenovo’s recent teaser hinting the return of the prodigal Motorola Razr flipper.

The fact that the new Moto Z was reprising the super sleek figure of the first Droid Razr was realized later on in Lenovo’s Tech World Conference. The Moto Z measures just 5.2mm which is surprising, as Moto phones have always been huge and chunky blocks of plastic. In a very Moto-esque kind of way they have been curvy with a very characteristic dimple on the back side which many had assumed would sport a finger print scanner in future.

Moto phones have always stood out on their own. Every year, Motorola used to bring about very subtle changes in their design, but more or less the inherent scheme of the Moto E, the Moto G and the Moto X remained unchanged. Moto phones were easily recognized from each and every angle. But unfortunately this feature is lost, as the Moto G4 and Moto Z are very common, that is, they no longer have any unique look, they look like any other smart phone. The new Moto Z is flat as a pancake and sports a prominent camera bulge on the back side.
